Legabibo exists to help and support marginalized LGBTI members of the community and to fight for their basic rights.
Many people find it hard to come to terms with thier own sexuality – especially in communities in which it is taboo, illegal, not out in the open or where there is a large church influence. Remember, you are not alone! Some churches condemn same sex relationships and make wild claims about the damage it can or will do. Not all churches approach the subject in this way including some in Botswana.
Coming out to yourself can be hard enough, coming out to your friends, family and colleagues can be harder still! Some people have negative experiences, others, very positive.
If you have a coming out story to share with our visitors and other people considering Coming Out, please submit it to us and we will publish a selection in our “Coming Out” page.

Born This Way Foundation
The Born This Way Foundation is led by Lady Gaga and her mother Cynthia Germanotta. It was founded in 2011 to foster a more accepting society, where differences are embraced and individuality is celebrated. Aimed at 13 – 25 year olds, the Foundation is dedicated to creating a safe community that helps connect young people with the skills and opportunities they need to build a kinder, braver world. They and thier followes believe that everyone has the right to feel safe, to be empowered and to make a difference in the world. Together, we will move towards acceptance, bravery and love. Check out the website to learn more about the 3 pillars of Safety, Skills & Opportunity.
